Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on June 15th 1996 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 and received great reviews from both music bloggers as well as media. She's recorded a variety of well-known covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. It was further recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the track Runaway. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories involve finding a piano hidden in her attic and becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not for an income or to pursue a hobby, but rather for the sake of growing. In order to do so she started writing her own original compositions. Her influences include renowned artists Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and the style of Bjork. Her mother had told her that her music could not only help her gain not only fame but also help others see their importance to the world and appreciate the potential of the songs, she decided to perform in public. When she began playing the piano, she was six years old and started writing songs before she reached nine. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was 14. The dream was never for her to achieve Aurora. The singer claims that she is a fan of making music. According to her, music is her favourite way to feel anything.
